Moshin Dowlut : "Yoga promotes flexibility and strength, while reducing stress and anxiety levels"

You have been teaching yoga classes at Eclosia for several years. What changes have you observed in the participants over time?
I have been teaching yoga at Eclosia for about six years, with around twenty participants per session, although some cannot always attend due to their busy schedules. What I have noticed is a significant increase in their sense of calm and serenity. Many have reported improved sleep, falling ill less frequently, and having more energy.
What long-term benefits of yoga have you observed in your regular participants?
In the long run, regular yoga practitioners experience not only physical improvements but also greater emotional and mental stability. Yoga promotes flexibility, strength, and endurance while reducing stress and anxiety levels. Many participants report better emotional management and a more positive attitude toward daily challenges. When they miss a few sessions, they often feel sluggish, which demonstrates yoga’s ongoing positive impact on their well-being.
Which aspects of yoga do you find most beneficial in coping with daily work-related stress?
Specific breathing techniques, sounds, dynamic movements, and static postures all contribute to reducing stress and enhancing well-being. A person who feels good in their body is more kind, productive, and efficient.
How do you see the evolution of yoga practice in companies over the coming years, and what would be the benefits?
Companies are becoming increasingly aware of the impact of stress on their employees. Yoga is being integrated more and more into corporate environments, complementing other wellness activities. This trend is expected to grow, bringing benefits such as better stress management and overall employee well-being.
Apart from companies, where else do you teach?
I also teach in various companies within the Cybercity, law firms, gyms, wellness centers, hotels, retirement homes, children’s shelters, sports centers, and private clients’ homes.
How do you adapt your classes to meet the needs and levels of each participant?
The fundamentals of yoga remain the same, but each person is different. For children, I offer more playful sessions. Those who have experienced difficult situations require a more psychologically sensitive approach. For elderly participants, yoga is gentler and sometimes practiced on a chair for comfort. For office workers with limited time, "office yoga" includes stretching, breathing, and meditation exercises, allowing them to relax for a few minutes before returning to work with renewed focus.
What are some of the current yoga trends that you find most interesting or promising?
One interesting trend is the integration of technology into yoga practice, such as posture-tracking apps and online classes, making yoga more accessible. Therapeutic yoga, which focuses on using yoga to address specific health issues, is also gaining popularity. Additionally, yoga retreats and wellness events are on the rise, offering participants a complete immersion into the practice.
What advice would you give to beginners to maximize yoga’s benefits for their well-being?
Many people say they are not flexible enough to practice yoga, but that is precisely why they should do it. You can start on a chair or even in bed. Yoga benefits both the body and mind and helps you discover inner peace.
How do you encourage your participants to stay motivated and committed to their yoga practice?
I keep my participants motivated by encouraging them to set personal goals and celebrating their progress, no matter how small. I try to make each session engaging and tailored to their specific needs. By constantly reminding them of yoga’s benefits, I help them see its positive impact on their daily lives, which encourages them to continue.
Can you briefly describe how yoga promotes overall well-being?
Yoga is much more than a physical activity. According to one of the most famous yoga masters, B.K.S. Iyengar, “Yoga cultivates the means to maintain a balanced attitude in daily life and develop the ability to perform our actions effectively.” Yoga promotes overall well-being by harmonizing the body and mind. It helps reduce stress, improves sleep quality, boosts energy levels, and strengthens the immune system. By working on breathing, postures, and meditation, yoga allows individuals to achieve inner peace and emotional balance, essential for a fulfilling life.
