CTE connects its talents with industry leaders!

Dec 05, 2024

The Charles Telfair Education (CTE) Career Fair 2024, held yesterday on campus, brought together students, recent graduates, and recruiters in a unique environment of exchange and opportunities. This flagship event, eagerly anticipated each year, embodies CTE’s commitment to preparing future professionals for the job market.

“The Career Fair is a unique opportunity for our students and graduates to meet recruiters directly, engage with companies from various sectors, and build their professional network,” explains Kanya Santokhee, Head of Marketing at CTE. This year’s edition welcomed over 50 companies across diverse industries, including finance, IT, marketing, healthcare, and more.

A key highlight this year was the participation of two clinics, C-Care and Artemis Hospital, which were recruiting for nursing and other healthcare-related positions. “These partnerships strengthen the alignment between our specialized training programs—such as phlebotomy and medical assistance—and market needs,” Santokhee adds.

Companies from the Eclosia Group, including Avipro, Panagora, and FTL, were also present. Avipro is looking for a Cost Accountant, while Panagora is offering multiple positions, including Sales Administrator, Teleservice Agent, and Supply Chain Analyst. FTL, on the other hand, is recruiting for Indoor Sales Coordinator and Air Freight Coordinator positions.

The event also marked the first participation of Febal Casa, a specialist in furniture and interior design. “We are looking for an interior decorator for our workshop in Port-Louis,” shares Thierry Nozaïque, director of the company, which has developed its local production since the pandemic.

In the tech industry, Rank Interactive, an online gaming specialist based in Ébène, also made its debut at the fair. Aurélie, a company representative, shares her journey: “I started as a Chat Host, then became a Customer Service Executive, and later a Training Manager—all in just four years. We provide training and career growth opportunities, even for those with no prior experience.”

Other notable participants included International Card Processing Services, Accenture, and Bolt Talent Solutions. These recruiters are actively looking for diverse profiles, ranging from Systems Engineers to developers and IT support specialists.

The Career Fair’s goal is clear: to open doors to a promising professional future. “We believe in the power of in-person connections to give careers a real boost,” concludes Kanya Santokhee. This annual event, which continues to grow in scale, remains dedicated to its mission: connecting young talent with the companies shaping the local and global economy. An initiative that reaffirms CTE’s pivotal role in employability and academic excellence.
