FTL and Fondation Solidarité cultivate the future

FTL, in partnership with Eclosia Group’s Fondation Solidarité, celebrates the inauguration of the educational garden greenhouse at Fondation Georges Charles. This external corporate social responsibility project benefits 66 individuals and marks a significant step towards sustainability and environmental awareness. Notably, it is the first fully wheelchair-accessible greenhouse in Mauritius.
The inauguration ceremony, held on November 30, brought together key figures, including Jean Marie Malepa, Manager of Fondation Georges Charles; Laurent Vigier de Latour, Country Manager of FTL; Roland Dubois, President of the Executive Committee of Fondation Georges Charles; and the Honorable Mrs. Fazila Jeewa-Daureeawoo, Minister of Social Integration, Social Security, and National Solidarity.
The event began with dance performances by young beneficiaries, followed by the symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony and a guided tour of the greenhouse and classrooms.
"Together, let us continue to cultivate this garden of possibilities, where every seed planted is a promise of growth, and every success harvested is a victory for the entire community," stated Laurent Vigier de Latour, Country Manager of FTL, emphasizing the collective power of this initiative.
Roland Dubois, President of the Executive Committee of Fondation Georges Charles, expressed his gratitude to FTL and Fondation Solidarité d’Eclosia, highlighting FTL’s crucial role in making this project a reality and its long-term impact on the beneficiaries.
"We hope that our beneficiaries will develop practical skills and apply the knowledge gained in their own homes. They will learn about drip irrigation systems and how to cultivate an organic garden," he shared, stressing the educational value of the greenhouse.
Jean Paul Hennequin, Manager of Fondation Solidarité, praised the initiative, emphasizing its alignment with the foundation’s vision of inclusion. "Congratulations once again to the FTL team and Fondation Georges Charles for this wonderful initiative. This garden greenhouse not only promotes physical and mental well-being but also fosters personal development through an enriching and educational activity," he said.
