For its 48th anniversary, Panagora brings together Mauritians around ‘Healthy’ and ‘Lokal’

Bringing together all its partners in one place to celebrate "Healthy" and "Lokal" on the occasion of its 48th anniversary—this was the challenge Panagora took on with HELO Moris on September 3 at L’Aventure du Sucre. Judging by the turnout, it was a success, with organizers estimating around 1,500 visitors attending this delightful, almost summer-like day. HELO Moris allowed Mauritians, whether with family or friends, to learn and (re)discover, in a friendly atmosphere, that eating well is possible by consuming local products. Since 2018, Panagora has made "Healthy" and "Lokal" its main focus. This large-scale public event, the first after two years of health restrictions, also marks another step forward in the company’s strategy.

Eclosia’s production companies, including Avipro, Maurilait, and NML, showcased their creativity and originality through their stands, attracting visitors with engaging demonstrations and fruitful discussions with company representatives. For Junaid Muslun, General Manager of Panagora, the day was a resounding success: "The ‘Healthy’ and ‘Lokal’ challenge of HELO Moris was a success! This family-friendly event highlighted local producers, chefs, nutritionists, and athletes—in short, Panagora’s long-standing partners. Many Mauritians came to explore our fun and educational workshops. Our entire company is proud to have celebrated our 48th anniversary in a way that reflects our values."

Families had the opportunity to benefit from the valuable advice of nutritionists, learn how a farm operates, make their own compost, understand where Bonduelle and Field Good vegetables come from, discover the benefits of yogurt, and even take home new recipe ideas using ingredients they already have in their fridge—thanks to the creativity of the chefs present.

Visitors particularly enjoyed the Taste Lab, a sensory workshop where participants had to guess different foods. Winners took home baskets of products worth Rs 1,000. The Pop-up Grocer was another highlight, showcasing a variety of locally made products, including the brand-new taro sticks and sweet potato chips from Les Jardins de Médine. Visitors also had the chance to grab great deals on these items. While the little ones were fascinated by the baby chicks at the farm, the older crowd enjoyed games organized by the Mauritius Sports Council, including the classic and fun potato sack race.

And, of course, no visit would be complete without a stop at the Culinary Village! Cakes, faratas, curries, dumplings—all the essentials of Mauritian cuisine, prepared with local ingredients and distributed by Panagora, delighted both small and big appetites alike.
