Didier L'Acariate, Head of HR at Avipro and NML: "Retirement needs to be planned"

Aug 10, 2022

A new retirement support program has been introduced. Why is it important?

Thirty-three percent of Avipro's workforce is over 50 years old. So, having such a program made sense. When I proposed the idea in April 2021 to create this program to help employees navigate their transition to retirement, my goal was to encourage them to reflect on various aspects that will impact their retirement. Until now, before launching this program, we only held individual meetings a few months before departure, focusing solely on pensions and the ‘gratuity on retirement.’

How does the program work?

We chose not to structure it as a formal training but rather as an eye-opener, where discussions and exchanges help both executives and operatives realize the importance of being proactive and preparing for this significant phase of life. After the sessions, employees can meet individually with HR teams to continue their reflection, sharing their aspirations or concerns in one-on-one discussions.

This unique program is conducted internally with the support of Gina Casset and Pierre-André Boullé. I chair the small committee behind the program, which includes Pravin Gopal, Roomy Kanaksabee, Divesh Mandary, Lorriane Nadal-Daugnette, and Ornella Brun.

How many sessions have taken place so far?

Four sessions have been held in Phoenix and Moka. The program is scheduled to conclude in June 2023. So far, participants have responded very positively, welcoming this innovative initiative.
