Tina, Amanda, and Anoushka: young passionates who elevate food Made in Moris

Nov 11, 2021

Since 2017, the Eclosia Group has supported young, talented, and creative food stylists. Here, we meet three bloggers with unique styles.

Clean, minimalist, modern, and delicious. This is how Tina and Amanda describe their blog "A Table with Aulson". “We bring an international and artistic touch to our photos to set ourselves apart from the more exotic and local blogs, which we also appreciate. But it’s important to show variety and introduce new ideas.”

What led to the creation of "A Table with Aulson"?

It all started during the 2020 lockdown when everyone began cooking. The young women exchanged recipes and shared photos of their dishes on social media. As part of their lockdown project, Tina and Amanda created recipe cards. While Tina painted hers by hand, Amanda, a professional graphic designer, made them digitally. A Table with Aulson was born to share their favorite recipes, adapted to Mauritian culture and the ingredients available here. "Aulson" is a portmanteau of the bloggers’ middle names: Autumn and Alison.

A year later, with 4,000 followers, Tina and Amanda are now creating content around everything related to food — food-focused events, restaurants, behind-the-scenes… “A Table with Aulson has evolved into more than just a recipe blog. This surprised us! So many opportunities have come our way because of it. Our partnership with Gourmet Experience and more recently with Eclosia makes us very proud. What we appreciate even more is that Eclosia encourages us to stay true to ourselves, our style, our brand, and our creative ideas while collaborating with their team.” While awaiting more challenges, they continue to share their passion for food. “If there’s one thing we all have in common, it’s that we’re all food lovers! Food brings us together.”

Another style, another personality, Anoushka Aodhorah is the first food blogger and stylist to leave her mark on Eclosia’s Facebook page since its early days in 2017. A tireless foodie who loves to explore, Anoushka combines her three passions — food, writing, and photography — on her blog PeachyTales.

PeachyTales was born out of boredom in 2015. “I was unemployed and I love cooking. I thought it would be a good idea to document the dishes I loved on a single platform. I’ve always loved writing, so this blog was an escape to keep me busy,” she says. A self-taught photographer, she is surprised by the warm reception from Mauritians. “I was pretty skeptical at first, wondering who would actually be interested in reading my recipes and stories. This unexpected success helped me discover a hidden talent. Visitors enjoy the recipes, but what they appreciate most is the authenticity that shines through the images and style of PeachyTales.”

Food is showcased in its natural state, highlighting traditional Mauritian cuisine, the kind that shaped our childhood. The success is evident. For a while, Anoushka juggled her job as an administrative clerk with her passions. She advised local magazines and the hospitality industry on food styling. Later, she decided to fully dedicate herself to her passion. Her goal: to channel her creativity into more sources and help promote Mauritian food internationally. However, Covid-19 came to disrupt things. Despite the successive lockdowns due to the pandemic, she managed to navigate unknown waters and overcome various obstacles.

She successfully ventured into creating artisanal breads, a variety of indulgent brownies, and more recently, cakes so beautiful that one can’t help but admire them. Anoushka is, if proof is needed, a testament that imagination has no limits and that anything is possible for those who dare, dream, work, and never give up.
