A podcast to preserve Eclosia’s memory

What is your role within the Eclosia Group?
I am an anthropologist, Belgian by birth, Mauritian at heart, and I’ve lived here for almost 20 years. I joined Eclosia in May 2021 as the cultural officer. I am responsible for leading various cultural projects for the Group.
What is the approach behind Eclosia’s Memwar project?
The approach of the Memwar project at Eclosia is to collect the memories and testimonies of the group’s longest-serving employees across the various Eclosia companies. It is a way to give a voice and pay tribute to those who have been with Eclosia since its beginnings and who have contributed to the Group’s growth.
How do you go about it concretely?
I meet about sixty people, one by one, in their respective companies, and I conduct interviews with them that last between 30 minutes to an hour. I record the conversations and take notes. After the interview, I transcribe the content to extract the essence of their shared stories. There’s also an audio editing process for the podcast episodes, where we keep only the 6 to 8 most important minutes. Then, together with a photographer, we revisit them to take portraits of all the people who participated in the project.
What are the objectives of this project?
Ultimately, the goal is to publish a beautiful book that features the people I met, along with accompanying podcasts.
How did you choose those who are featured?
The 60 participants were selected by the companies themselves, the ACS committee, and the HR managers of the various companies. The criterion was that they should be long-time employees with over 30 years of service.
