Assistant Accountant

Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic Shared Accounting Services team.

As an Assistant Accountant, your responsibilities will include maintaining the accounting records of a portfolio of Companies, supervising staff and you will report directly to the Head of Shared Accounting Services.

Preparation of management accounts:

• Ensure completeness, accuracy and timely processing of accounting transactions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to oversee any outsourced accounting functions.
• Prepare timely monthly / quarterly management accounts and statutory financial statements, in line with IAS.

Compliance:

• Preparation and submission of all statutory returns required for compliance (MRA).
• Provision of information to internal / external auditors for the audit exercises.

Service delivery & Customer success:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive continuous process improvement and contribute to the achievement of financial goals.
• Ensure that our financial processes align seamlessly with exceptional customer experience and as per our agreed SLAs with internal customers (Group companies).

Profile

Academics:

• At least 4 years experience (preferably in audit / accounting firms)
• ACCA qualified or at least ACCA Level 2 completed and currently pursuing ACCA level 3.
• Comprehensive understanding of financial and accounting techniques and methods (IFRS)
• Knowledge and experience in an ERP would be a plus.
